My Future looks brighter already.

October 2011
Over the weekend, I received a wonderful prize from a contest I won over at Sew News Magazine via Facebook.  A Triple Bright Lamp from Daylight arrived just in time for my update of the sewing room.  What a wonderful treat.  I had no idea of  what to expect, or if I needed help putting it together, but I handled it myself easily and the directions were wonderful.  This lamp is AWESOME.  If you are having trouble with colors choices, or just need extra light in certain corners of your room, ( it’s adjustable) this is worth checking out. Thank you, thank you, thank you for my Triple Bright Lamp!!

My sewing room feels warmer already.

If you get a chance to cool off this Summer and drive up North to cool country, make sure you have some time to stop at Quilting Sisters in Payson. Owned by Cheryl Dolby, this quaint clean and friendly store is a treat. The really neat feature of this store is the huge stone fireplace, giving the store a real cozy feel.  They have loads of bright fun fabric, and the quilt samples are bright and modern too.  Quilting Sisters is currently carrying Bernina sewing machines. Stitch a book recommends using the "SQUARE" for taking credit cards.

My most recent show in Columbus, Ohio was my first opportunity to use the “Square”.
I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Like a Charm, in fact. It’s easy, fast, and reliable.  I needed to upgrade my phone to an Android System, and that was and is worth its weight in gold as well. (I love my new Sprint Epic!!!) The “Square” is a one inch square sized attachment to your smart phone that has a divot in it that allows you to swipe credit cards. The transaction is approved within seconds, and the funds are deposited to your account within days.  Any vendors still using the old “knuckle- busters” need to check into the “Square”.   Highly recommended by Stitch a book.

"Totaly Tidy" Carolyn Woods changed my life. ( and my sewing room).

I met Carolyn Woods just before her book came out earlier this year.  She is an adorable, perky brunette, whose passion for keeping you TIDY is her goal. I attended the Book Premier at the oldest Quilt Shop in Phoenix, The Quilted Apple in May 2011.  After reading her book, “ORGANIZING SOLUTIONS for Every Quilter” I knew it was time to tame the stash room.  Wow what a difference. I now can go into my sewing room and A) Know where everything is and B) Have an “Urgent” to do project bin and “Whenever” project bin.  A lot of tips from the book are make-sense, and the pictures are great too.  I highly recommend you get your copy and get your Sewing Room in good order. It makes you feel good. Here is Carolyn’s information and enjoy looking at MY sewing room transformation. Carolyn can be  found at
Her book is now #1 in the Quilting titles at Amazon!!! You go girl. Available here:

These are obviously the before pictures !!!!  Now look at the Transformation !!

Thank you so much Carolyn,  and everyone, order her book from Amazon !!!!

My "Undated Planner" is a great idea for many reasons. Here are a few.

If you have an untraditional work week, or you just need to jot down a few things per day, be it appointments, or a goal list or a "To Do ToDay" List, the Undated Planner is a great tool.  Inspired by my Niece, Molly, the Undated Planner can easily go into a backpack for students. She wanted to notate her Yoga classes and traditional classes, and is rarely without a planner. It also doubled as a daily journal  for her too. It could  also be used for:
-Sporting Events
-Social Calendar
-Chart Family Events
--Daily Affirmations
--Daily Prayers

The "Undated Planners "are 8.5 x 5.5 and fit perfectly in the Medium "Stitch a book" Binder. Order yours today. You will FEEL BETTER when you are BETTER ORGANIZED !!.

Here is a recent picture of myself with my Niece Molly.  She is one of the Loves of my Life.
